Lymphatic Disease
Traditional crutches have also been known to damage
the lymphatic system. The most common form of lymphatic disease, which
results from traditional crutch use, is Lymphedema.
Lymphedema
A disease characterized by swelling caused by
interference with the normal drainage of lymph back into
the blood. In this condition, inertial fluids accumulate
and the limb gradually becomes swollen. The condition may
become permanent.
